Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag...

My troubles:

  • Ithaca is cold
  • I have not seen Ash since September 20, 2009
  • I have not seen Pannie since December 14, 2010
  • I have not seen Al since December 28, 2010

Solution: Pack up your bag and go to New York City where all three girls will be NEXT WEEKEND!   Woooooooooooooooo

Last night I bought a round trip ticket on the fancy pants first class Cornell bus so I will be headed to the Big Apple for less than 48 hours to see some of my favorite girls....   Sisters by blood and choice, ones who know me best and also probably make fun of me the most.  All good things!   And of course, there will be lots of smiling and photos and stuffed bison.  More details to come shortly!

Spring Break Highlights

We are back from Spring Break (so sad) but gearing up for the sprint to the finish of graduate school!  Eight weeks to go....... YAY!  Rather than dwell on the ugly weather here in upstate New York, I leave you with highlights from last week:
  • Flying JetBlue, which has DirecTV and therefore many NCAA basketball games!
  • A pimped out rental car with satellite radio and a backup camera.  If ever there was an anti-John Bilz car...
  • Clear nighttime skies with a full moon and sparkly stars.  Seriously, it was incredible
  • Consistent sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures all week
  • Pool time, including water slide and lazy river, and needing sunscreen!
  • Flip flops and shorts and no socks or coats
  • Our house!  Complete with a dishwasher and in-unit laundry
  • Dinner at Sweet Tomatoes... TWICE!  (do you know Sweet Tomatoes?   Check it out!)
  • Theme park visits, specifically:
Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT
It's a Wonderful Life box (which I had not noticed since first visiting this park in 1992)
Becoming a Galactic Hero, scoring 999,999 points on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
    Michael singing in American Idol

BOO of the week:
Both OSU and Florida, my final 2 teams playing for the championship next weekend, losing and thus rendering my NCAA Bracket a disaster.   Again!   What does it take for me to WIN one of these damn things?

M-I-C-K-E-Y

Well, folks, it's SPRING BREAK.   Hallelujah.   I have worked every day since January 3 and am ready for a few days off.  We are heading to Florida to enjoy the sun and warmth and theme parks and our own house and pool.   I am so pumped.  Each March EPCOT hosts the Flower & Garden Festival which is amazing.  I will be spending a lot of time there.   See you next weekend!
